Group Chief Information and Estates Officer
Ed is the Group Chief Information & Estates Officer, with responsibility for digital/IT, cyber security, business continuity and procurement across the Group, and facilities management and estates compliance for the College.
He brings nearly 30 years’ experience leading technology and infrastructure transformation across both commercial and education sectors. His focus is simple: making things work better - more securely, more reliably, and with less friction for the people who use them.
Since joining the Group, Ed has led a wide-ranging programme of digital and operational change, including the integration of new schools, the move to cloud-based platforms, and the strengthening of cyber security and resilience across more than 30 sites. Alongside this, he leads the development and management of the College estate, ensuring that buildings are safe, compliant and support the experience of learners and staff.
He led the development of the Group’s Digital Strategy 2026–30, setting out a clear, standards-aligned approach to modernising systems, improving learner and staff experience, and adopting technologies such as AI in a responsible and practical way. Ed is particularly interested in how digital and estates strategy come together - from smart buildings to data-led decision making — to create environments that are efficient, sustainable and ready for the future.
He believes technology should be useful, not complicated, and that good infrastructure is something people only notice when it goes wrong. Most of his job is making sure it doesn’t.
